RED SANDS Red sands, woody brush, and thorny plants cover this patch of the Kalahari. The lands here dips and rises in some spots, and paired with the bare, fallen trees, this place provides excellent look-out spots. The red colors of the dirt seem to soak up the red rays of the sunset, making something strangely inviting about the land as a whole. The blaring uniqueness has caused many to fall in love and desire to call this land home.

THE SHADY PATCH The terrain here is uneven and waves of hills dot the perimeter. Trees are scattered along the territory, providing shade and shelter for any weary wanderer; however, it seems that more than threatening watching eyes tend to hide among their leaves. The foraging in the patch has always been decent, but perhaps like the lotus fruit, the tasty prospect has led more than one into undesirable danger.

A Daring Mission [open] by Fable Jun 11, 2013 13:35:43 GMT -7 |
THE ROAD Dividing the Kalahari in two, the dirt road is rarely used by humans. It seems to stretch for an eternity, leading through the lands of the Kingdom and on to godforsaken who-knows-where. The Road has always been a pivotal point in boundary lines, as once meerkats were frightfully afraid of crossing. A neutral land, the narrow strip of dirt seems to put a barrier more theoretical in design between the sections. |

THE RIDGE A sandy drop-off, the Ridge overlooks the wide Drylands below. Decorated with what feels to be the only tree for miles, the little point is what seems to be a haven over a dismal amount of unsafe grounds. A frequent stop, and a sounding alarm of "turn back now" for the weaker-hearted, the portion of land is full of scents of those who have passed by. A small hollow can be found at the base of the tree, and if not occupied, can make a restful stopping point for those on a long journey home. |

THE DRYLANDS A vast expanse of desert plain, the Drylands are aptly named, and is only seldom graced by rainfall. Though sparsely decorated with spurts of grass, the vegetation is mainly dried and yellowed. The area contains little overhead cover beyond gnarled, mangled corpses of trees, but with the open sense of air and lack of other souls in the vicinity, the Drylands make for a desirable getaway and perhaps can serve as a ground for new daring ventures. |

BLOSSOMING FIELDS When the rain falls on to this particular patch of land, they burst with a vibrant enthusiasm that only nature can bring. Wildflowers and their ancestor's remains are the most notable feature of the land. In the summer, plants overtake much of the area, leading only to mishaps in losing one's way or one's party. However, despite any unfortunate dangers, the bright life found here after a desert rain tends to bring undeniable smiles to the most winter-worn of faces. |

DRIED RIVERBED Once home to a small stream, the riverbed is empty, and dirt has fallen in between smoothed-out stones. The path winds through the southern portion of the Kingdom with dry, cracked ground and tiny bits of pebbles. The former river here was never quite a river, only a shallow stream much too often dry. Now in a near perpetual state of bare, the riverbed only fills up when rain dances over the desert. |

THE ANCIENT ACACIA This acacia tree has existed as long as any can remember, and its grandeur seems to dwarf the magnificence of any other tree that one could have laid eyes on. The web of branches create a haven of shade and safety, and the wood and twisting bark tell a tale of an old, old world. |
