The Intro
The Kingdom
You've found your way into a strip of land locally known as the Kingdom. For as long as anyone can remember, the Kingdom has always been home to multiple families of meerkats all in a constant struggle against one another. As time goes by, various individuals rise to power while others fall to be forgotten. With the constant flux and possibility of change, powerstruggles continuously ensue as every soul tries to battle their way to eternal glory or everlasting infamy.
The dustclouds curl in on the horizon and the stormclouds are within earshot. Life is a struggle from every rank and every mob, but all warring sides look each other in the eyes with kindred souls. Sharing the same deep-set desires to thrive within a realm of comfort and happines.
Life is good in the Kalahari after the rains come down, but it's a matter of getting through the winter, getting through the struggle.
The Story as of Now
It seems that it has been a good deal of time that the Starcross mob has been the only force within the vastness of the small region of the Kalahari known as the Kingdom by its residents. However, a series of strange events have led the mob to become a shadow of what it once was. The dominant female, Amaranth, disappeared suddenly during a simple foraging trip. Suddenly leaderless, the rest of the mob was left baffled and confused. However, their troubles did not cease there, and grew into a new, unexpected plague in the form of an unfamiliar scent.
A new mob appeared on the horizon of their territory, settling itself down right next to the borderline. Calling themselves the Verbesinia, as time progressed, they began to encroach on the boundaries. It seemed the mob coming from nowhere, matched in strength to the now frail Starcross would soon have their way. Without a stable dominant female and no one quite experienced enough to take true lead, the Verbesinia took their chance and attacked their neighbors. A roaring battle ensued and in the end both parties limped away with straining injuries. Casualties were large and both mobs found themselves in the same state: their numbers cut and their dominants missing or too injured. What seemed a bizarre coincidence left both mobs shaken.
Though despite dire consequences, the rivalry between the two families boiled hotter than the sands under their feet, and despite their state of leaderlessness, they are now each determined to battle it out to the bitter end. But between the rivalry and the hatred, the intricacies of self-driven instinctual needs still surface. Whether it be for love, pride, loyalty, or any other means, when looking the eyes of one's enemy in battle, there's always an unsettling amount of reflection.
So the lines are drawn and the fight for survival is tougher than ever.
